Inappropriate?When a project is first created, Tracker has no historical data from which to calculate your project velocity. The initial velocity is used as the team velocity until the completion of your first few iterations. At that point, Tracker has enough data to calculate your actual velocity and the initial velocity is no longer relevant.
If your project goes without points for long enough that your velocity would be zero, then the initial velocity is used until you re-establish a meaningful velocity.

Inappropriate?This response implies that there is a distinction between an individual's velocity and a team velocity. My team-mate and I are showing different velocities for the same project and this is confusing.

Stephen, there is no tracking of individual velocity, only per-project velocity. Can you provide the project ID where you are seeing the issue?
