Hi folks,
our company is working with eclipse and mylyn (http://www.eclipse.org/mylyn/).
I think it would be great to have a connector from mylyn to tracker.
Is something like this planned?
Thanks for the great tool.

That is not something we have planned, but we are expanding our API and you could create your own eclipse plugin to Tracker. See http://www.pivotaltracker.com/help/api for more details.

Has any work been done on this mylyn connector ? I would really love if something like this exists.

Hi, I have started an open source project aiming to address this issue and you are all very welcome to join! Please see http://pt-eclipse.googlecode.com/
There is also a Pivotal Tracker project for this which you also is very welcome to join... http://www.pivotaltracker.com/project... -

topspeed: Some initial work has been done. Please have a look at http://code.google.com/p/pt-eclipse/w...
If you want to join the project, please do not hesitate! -

It's a shame the official support of tracker says it "is not something we have planned". Come on, what kind of tracker is it? Eclipse if community driven platform and so widely used...
Why can't I view my tickets from the comfort of my IDE? Shame on you! :) -

My company, TeamUnify, has a need for this as well, and the project referenced above seems dead and unresponsive (there is no usable code...the thing is a skeleton that does nothing, and no on responds).
As a result, we've started our own project at:
https://www.pivotaltracker.com/projec...
We have basic functionality going, and will have an eclipse update site available by the end of Jan, 2011.- view 2 more comments

Thanks for making this public. It would be perfect to add labels as a query parameter. My company is using one PT project and multiple labels to distinguish between actual internal projects - websites to work on.

-
Labels support is on the list, and is slated for next week. We're planning on using labels the same way. You can follow the project via RSS at:

Is this not working with Helios, i keep getting a Nullpointer when trying to add a task. Also syncing is not working.
-
-
Version .10 is working pretty well for us with Helios. Could be you input the parameters wrong for the repository. Also, you have to create an API token on the PT site.
-
-
I did all this, also the API token generation. Have entered a username and set a password. Get no error and "Validate settings" returns "Authentication credits are valid". Then when i sync i get no results. Also member names are not synced in the query interface, no errors though. EDIT: I get the nullpointer when trying to add a task.

Should be ok as of .11

I have updated, now when adding the repo it gives an error about the project ID, which is correct fo sure.

Been using this connector for a couple weeks now - it's great! I noticed that mylyn doesn't generate any commit messages based on the active task. Is that expected? Other than that, I've had no issues at all.
-
I'm not sure what you mean. You have to Submit for mylyn to send anything back through the connector. Do you mean Team commit messages (e.g. for SVN for CVS). If you do, then no, there is no integration point with team plugins.

Pivotal Tracker Mylyn Connector now Open Source.
Our developers have finished all of the features that we needed for our core use, and I am moving this project to the public space. The source code is available via
http://code.google.com/p/pivotal-trac...
The import is in progress, and there is work in progress on making this source compile without any special setup.
For now, the update site at ptmylyn.teamunify.com will continue to function, but will likely be replace as well very soon.-
Great! Thanks for supporting Tracker! Please let us know when you think this is ready for inclusion in our list of Third Party tools: https://www.pivotaltracker.com/help/t...

I believe it is ready. We're using it daily on our end, with no problems. The eclipse update site listed above (ptmylyn.teamunify.com) is fine to publish.
