The '/' keyboard shortcut should select the current content of the search field.
The / keyboard shortcut should select the content of the text field.
Right now, if I press /, the focus goes to the search text field (which is great) but the current content is not selected. I feel that in most cases in other products, the current content is automatically selected (e.g. address bar accessed through KB shortcut in internet browsers).
That would allow a user to type his new search right away, rather than typing after the current search, or having to select the current content.
NB: I'm using Safari 4.0 on Mac OS 10.5 in case it should work but doesn't for some reason...
