Is it possible to fomally tie bugs or chores to specific user stories?

Are there "best practices" for associating bugs and/or chores with their associated stories in Tracker? If a story is rejected due to a bug how is that best managed by Tracker? Can a metadata link be established between the story and Bug? Will labels work efficiently to make this association?
