CSV import error, "import file must be UTF-8 only"
I'm attempting to create stories by exporting them from excel '07. I keep getting the following error message upon import. "Import FAILED: Import file must be UTF-8 only. You can paste non-UTF-8 CSV directly into the CSV Text field for automatic conversion." I don't know what to do differently. Help!!!
Steps I'm following:
1. Create new project in PT
2. Export CSV file of that project.
3. Open CSV file in Excel.
4. Copy/Paste text fields from a pre-existing excel doc into the story column of the exported CSV
5. Save the CSV out of excel - I just save - not save as something
6. I always get the following prompt in excel:<imgsrc>
7. I import the CSV into PT and get the error about UTF-8 only.

Inappropriate?Did you try the automatic conversion by pasting the text directly? To do that, open up your CSV file in Notepad, select all the text and copy it. Then, make your way to the "Import CSV" page in Tracker, and paste the text into the "CSV Text" field. Click the "Import" button below and let us know how it goes.

Inappropriate?Alternatively, use something like Open Office that lets you save spreadhseets directly as UTF-8.
