API: JSONP response
Add JSONP as a response type to the API so I can do cross domain calls in JS please.

Thanks for the feedback. Currently we only support XML, but if we add JSON support, we'll consider adding JSONP as well. I've changed this to an Idea, so others can vote for it.

Alright. Well I couldn't really wait.. so for now I knocked up:
http://xml2json.heroku.com/ and http://github.com/bitzesty/xml2jsonp
It only works with gets requests, but that's all I need. -

Seriously, should be the default :-)
Even look at the Accepts header or a ".json" suffix on the URI -

+1 for JSON being the default
+1 for JSON, even if JSONP isn't implemented (although JSONP is trivial to implement)
You could build a wrapper that simply translated the xml to json on your side.
+1 for being able to control it with the HTTP Accepts header- view 1 more comment

So there's this terrible gem called xml_to_json: https://rubygems.org/gems/xml_to_json

Which, oddly enough, was written for a PivotalTracker RubyGem :)

why does not implement the result with json, instead of xml?

Everyone from our team couldn't believe that you support XML but not JSON. This seems so odd for PivotalTracker.

My first use of PT API's was to try and pull project info into a WIKI on page load. Guess I'll need to implement something on the back-end.

Matthew's Heroku link worked, but JSONP would be really useful. We like using PT, but a lot of our company uses a WIKI managed by a tedious I.S. group. Writing a back-end plugin for the WIKI is not feasible, but writing in Javascript is super easy.
Please add JSONP. ;-) -

Can you add JSON output to your API? (in v4) Its hard to write js client for this api, because
JSON gives smaller size of output body, than of XML. And with JSON more simplier manipulate in JavaScript.

Another vote for JSONP. I'd like to be able to use the API in a cross-domain from a static page without needing to proxy the request.
