Accepted stories in completed iteration not moved to Done.
Completed and accepted stories and chores in my GSD project are *not* automatically moving to Done. Done remains empty even though stories are finished and accepted; the iteration end date was Feb. 16. I cannot plan my next iteration if I cannot get the completed work out of Current! What am I missing? Thanks.

Inappropriate?Karen, your project iteration length is set to 4 weeks, so your current iteration, which began on Feb 16th, won't end until March 16th. On March 16th the completed stories in Current will move to Done, but until then you are still in the Feb 16th iteration. If this isn't the behavior you want, please explain what you'd like to have happen and we can help you improve your project settings.

OK, I guess the dates are confusing me. I thought that iteration started on Jan. 19 when I signed up, and that Feb. 16 was its end date. I will need to look into this further. Thanks for the quick reply. -
Inappropriate?Karen, the iterations don't increment until the first story is completed, regardless of when the project was created. To put it another way, the first completed story in a project is by definition always completed in Iteration 1. Did you complete your first story after Feb 16th? If so, that would make the iteration starting on Feb 16th Iteration 1, and Iteration 2 will begin on March 16th. I hope that clears things up, but please do let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Inappropriate?Ah. Most of the stories were completed (delivered) before Feb. 16, but we did not have the stakeholder meeting to confirm their acceptance until the 19th.
So now is there any way I can salvage or resync my iteration plans? I have edited a few of the acceptance dates to be Feb. 15. That has moved a few things to Releases, but is not seeming to have any impact on what is Done. Thanks. -
Inappropriate? My apologies, Karen, I didn't use our own terminology correctly. The iterations begin counting with the first Accepted story, as you have experienced.
I'm honestly not sure that backdating the acceptance date can cause the iteration count to rewind, as it were. This is new territory, but I'll pass this along to the development team to see what they can suggest.
Thanks for your detailed info on the issue! -
Inappropriate? From our developers: "The first iteration is based on the first accepted story, so you would have to backdate an existing accepted story to previous iteration or create a "dummy" accepted story as a marker. It may be necessary to reload the project to see the change"
Let us know how it goes!

Inappropriate?I entered a dummy story and marked it completed on Jan. 20. Logging out and back in did not change the Done list. I looked at trying to "reload the project" - exported everything to CSV, but could not figure out how to select all stories to delete them before re-importing. I finally tried editing the project settings to change the iteration length from 4 weeks to 1 week, and that seemed to force it to recalculate what was completed when - things now show up in Done. So I think we are OK now. I appreciate your help, and thank you for providing such quick, useful responses!
